ÉcoTQ certification
Events that implement the eco-responsibility measures will receive a GOLD, SILVER or BRONZE eco-responsible event certification. They will be able to display the logo corresponding to their level of certification in their communications, and each year the Federation will carry out a reassessment.
What is EcoTQ certification?
ÉcoTQ certification takes the form of an evaluation grid made up of fifty criteria organized around five main pillars, with the common objective of reducing the environmental impact of the various stages in the organization of an event.
The five pillars are :
- Human resources and land management
- Power supply
- Management of residual materials and energy sources
- Environmental awareness and education
- Transport, travel and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
Events that implement Triathlon Québec’s ÉcoTQ eco-responsible measures will receive GOLD, SILVER or BRONZE certification, depending on their level of progress in relation to the evaluation grid.
What is the Conseil québécois des événements écoresponsables?
The mission of the Conseil québécois des événements écoresponsables (CQEER) is to help key stakeholders in the event industry reduce the environmental impact of their events and enhance their positive social and economic impact.
The various objectives of the CQEER are to:
- Reduce the environmental impact of events, notably through better management of energy and residual materials.
- Develop management habits based on the principles of sustainable development
- Promoting responsible consumption
- Stimulate local spin-offs and the benefits of events for society
- Sharing existing expertise
- Promoting sustainable initiatives in the events sector
