Where to practice triathlon in your area
Quebec is an ideal place to practice triathlon.
With its spectacular landscapes, lakes, rivers and mountains, Quebec offers an exceptional natural environment for this sport, which is accessible to all.
Athletes can train in breathtaking settings, such as the mountains of the Charlevoix region, the lakes and rivers of the Lanaudière region, or the lakes and hills of the Eastern Townships.
In addition to these great places to train, Quebec offers a variety of triathlon events throughout the season. Events such as the Triathlon International de Montréal, the Xterra Québec series, the Magog Triathlon and the Tremblant Triathlon attract athletes from all over the world to compete at the highest level.
Quebec also has a large number of triathlon clubs that welcome athletes of all levels. These clubs offer training programs, social events and a supportive community for athletes passionate about triathlon. Quebec triathlon clubs are known for their camaraderie and commitment to sporting excellence.

- Center sportif de l’Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR): Located on the university campus, it includes an Olympic-size swimming pool, a training room, a 400-meter outdoor running track and a physiology laboratory.
- Center sportif Alphonse-Desjardins: This sports complex offers modern facilities for indoor training, spinning and a 200-metre indoor running track.
- Sports center at the École nationale de police de Nicolet (ENPQ): This center features a beautiful 25-meter pool, gymnasiums, a weight room and several safe cycling routes nearby.
- L’Aquacomplexe de Drummondville: This ultra-modern center boasts a ten-lane pool, ideal for training.
Open water swimming
- La Mauricie National Park: This park offers many outdoor activities, including running, cycling and swimming in the lakes.
- Lac-aux-Sables: This lake is great for swimming. It also offers running and cycling trails around its shores.
- Parc de l’Île Saint-Quentin: This Trois-Rivières park offers trails for running and cycling, as well as a lake for swimming.
- Lac William: A magnificent lake hosting the triathlon of the same name, this lake is ideal for open-water swimming.
Road and mountain biking
- La Mauricie National Park
- Sentier national de la Mauricie: This trail is ideal for running and cycling. It passes through magnificent natural landscapes, offering an excellent opportunity to train in the heart of nature.
- Chemin du Roy bike path: This bike path runs along the St. Lawrence River through several of the region’s municipalities. It offers superb panoramic views and a flat surface for bike training.
- The Route verte in Centre-du-Québec: A ton of itineraries in and around Victoriaville, Drummondville and Nicolet.
- Parc linéaire des Bois-Francs (bicycle path), very safe and accessible to novice cyclists.
