Board members have primary responsibility for adopting and enforcing governance policies, regulations and practices that foster a culture of integrity, accountability and efficiency within the Federation.

Sophie Yergeau is an event manager, labour placement manager at MF+, founder of Altitude Solution and president of Triathlon Québec. She has been involved in sports and event organization for over 30 years, including several charity events. Among other things, for over 10 years she organized the 2 Le Gardeur and Saint-Jérôme hospital races, which raise funds for the purchase of specialized equipment for various departments. A swimming athlete in her youth, she became a triathlete, coach, official and event organizer. Sophie is deeply involved in the Quebec sports community, mainly in projects promoting healthy lifestyles, such as the Défi SOS Santé Montréal-Québec. Her skills in human resources management, event management and her passion for sport make her an excellent president.
Georges Gay is co-founder of La Fabrique d'Athlètes Inc. and head coach of Club Élite Triathlon. A certified competition-level triathlon and track and field coach, he uses a rigorous scientific approach to optimize performance. He excels in technical and practical coaching in swimming, cycling and running, as well as in physical and strategic preparation for short- and long-distance competitions. With over 30 years' experience in management and strategic consulting for financial institutions, communications agencies and consulting firms, Georges has demonstrated his ability to take on complex mandates thanks to his leadership, vision and expertise in strategic planning, product development, marketing and public relations. Driven by a constant desire to innovate and progress, he is actively committed to raising the profile of triathlon in Quebec and beyond, and to contributing to its growth.
In his day-to-day work, Charles Veilleux is CFO of the law firm Borden Ladner Gervais. He has also worked at Disney, Bombardier, Quebecor World, Element Financial Corporation and AECOM. Charles is passionate about sports. He participates annually in several events: bike races, half-marathons, sprint triathlons, Olympic triathlons, IRONMAN 70.3. He has also been treasurer of Triathlon Québec since 2018, while maintaining his commitment to the Triathlon Rive-Sud club as an athlete, but also as president and treasurer. Charles participated in the development of the club's junior section, which brings together some 50 young people and where he works to promote triathlon, while instilling healthy lifestyle habits in young people and, most importantly, enabling them to have fun practicing this beautiful sport.
Mélanie Bégin has developed a keen interest in triathlon over the past 6 years. She has taken part in several short-distance events (sprint and Olympic) as well as a 70.3 in June 2019. A graduate of Université Laval in Quebec City, Mélanie earned her Bachelor of Laws (2008) and her Graduate Diploma in Notarial Law (2009). Since starting her practice, she has had the opportunity to work with seniors and young families. She has also been involved with the Alzheimer Society of Canada and various community organizations, giving lectures on companionship, matrimonial regimes, wills and protective mandates. Her passion for sport and her involvement with athletes at all levels make her a sensitive administrator, and her profession also enables her to understand and promote certain legal aspects of the federation.
Christian Fontaine, Director of Engineering at Law Marot Milpro, has over 20 years' experience in the field. He has held various positions, including department head and project manager. Under his leadership, the design and R&D department has been structured and its efficiency considerably improved. A triathlon enthusiast since the age of 15, he has taken part in over 90 triathlons/duathlons and more than 50 running competitions. He has also competed in the age-group World Cups in Chicago 2015, Ibiza 2023, Malaga 2024 and will take part in Wollongong 2025. As coach of the Trizone Triathlon Club since 2010, he has demonstrated outstanding leadership and management skills. He also launched the Triforce Triathlon Club in autumn 2024, highlighting his passion for triathlon and his commitment to the development of the sporting community.
Isabelle Picard has been Director of Collège AQMAT since 2025, a continuing professional education center associated with the Association québécoise de la quincaillerie et des matériaux de construction. Here, she puts her passion for learning, training and talent development to good use. With over 20 years' experience in project management, team mobilization and event organization, she has worked in the cultural, health, retail and entrepreneurial sectors.
A passionate athlete, marathon runner and Ironwoman, she has taken part in numerous sporting events and fund-raising campaigns, raising over $65,000 for causes close to her heart. She also sits on a number of boards in the arts and sports, including Triathlon Québec, where she puts her energy, vision and commitment at the service of the community.
Jérémie Martin is a business lawyer, specializing in real estate law and bank financing. Thanks to his human and collaborative approach, he quickly establishes a climate of trust conducive to the success of the projects he accompanies. His dynamism, rigor and commitment to excellence are at the heart of his practice. A former elite triathlete and representative of the Rouge et Or athletes at Université Laval, Jérémie has been able to transpose the qualities he acquired while practicing his high-level sport into his professional career: discipline, commitment and determination. His knowledge of the sporting world, combined with his legal expertise, make him a valuable asset to Triathlon Québec's Board of Directors, which he joins in 2025 as Secretary.
