Age categories
Triathlon Québec uses a nationally and internationally recognized age category system to ensure fair and safe participation for all athletes. Whether you’re a young beginner, a passionate adult or a seasoned veteran, there’s a category to suit you.
Age group competitions
Age group athletes participate mainly for the fun of the sport and to challenge themselves. Some of them are extremely competitive and regularly take part in the Coupe du Québec series. In Quebec, age group competitions are generally held in five-year increments for triathlon and ten-year increments for duathlon.
The minimum age is 16 for sprint distances and 18 for Olympic distances and over.
