Selection process - Quebec and national teams
The National Team and Quebec Team programs are exclusively for athletes taking part in ITU-type races (with trail running).
Athletes are nominated by Triathlon Canada according to the selection criteria determined by the national federation. Athletes are part of either the Senior National Team or the Development National Team, and are considered de facto members of the Quebec Team. Athletes belong to the junior, U23 or elite categories.
Triathlon Québec selects Quebec teams annually. Athletes named to these teams have access to medical and sports services, free local training camps, identified clothing and can be supported in their application by bursaries to the various foundations. They also receive financial support for training camps, international competitions and Canadian championships, according to established terms and conditions.
For 2023, Triathlon Québec has assembled a Quebec team of 31 athletes in the junior, U23 and elite categories. Athletes are selected on the basis of their results in international, national or provincial competitions, and according to the swimming and running indicators for their category.
