Provincial camps
Triathlon Québec organizes provincial camps for athletes to support their development and prepare them for national and international competitions.
Camps presentation
Triathlon Québec is responsible for various provincial camps offered to U13, U15 and junior athletes. These camps enable targeted athletes and coaches to enrich their knowledge and current practice, and prepare for the next stages of athletic progression. This project is aimed at athletes aged 14 to 19, and is part of the process leading up to larger-scale competitions, such as Canadian championships, the Canada Games and certain international events. In the event of selection, several criteria, such as results from provincial competitions, performance indicators in the three disciplines, athlete attitude and commitment, may be considered.
Immediate objectives
- To offer identified athletes a structured, competitive and homogeneous training environment, enabling them to achieve their full potential during short training camps.
- Create a group synergy for athletes who will rub shoulders on an increasingly regular basis over the years.
- Promote the long-term development of these athletes and their coaches.
- Enhance athletes’ autonomy and competence by providing them with relevant activities and learning situations, such as lectures on subjects like nutrition, mental preparation and physical preparation.
- Offering opportunities for trials and competitions outside the summer season to measure progress and enable analysis of each individual’s strengths and weaknesses: physical, technical, tactical and psychological.
- Provide a framework for mentoring, exchange of best practices and reinvestment opportunities for participating coaches.
